Scope of the Job

Delivery driving for Suma is a demanding and difficult job both physically and mentally. Suma driving is a balance between customer service, business efficiency and driver safety.

Suma Drivers provide a vital link between Suma and our customers.

Suma drivers must work in a sustainable, safe and legal manner in order to be efficient in the long term. Feedback and discussion with coordinators is necessary and expected.

We are recruiting for a new member to join our co-operative from our existing fixed-term workforce, in the role of the RDC Office Coordinator. This is to retain existing experience of working in our distribution team in Greenford and to strengthen our workers co-operative. This is an internal round of recruitment only. Applicants must currently work in the Suma Distribution team and have passed the standard probationary period. You may also apply if you were working at Suma on the 8th of June 2020 and your contract has since expired.

Hours: 40 hours per week.
Equal pay salary: £15.60 per hour, plus benefits
(40 hour week, circa £32,400)
Closing date for applications: 5 pm Friday 9th October 2020.
Applicants must be able to attend an interview between 2nd and 6th November 2020?.

We are recruiting for new members to join our co-operative from our existing fixed-term workforce. This is to retain reliable, accurate, cooperative and productive people with experience of working in our warehouse to strengthen our workers co-operative.? Applicants must currently work in the Suma warehouse (or have been working here on June 8th 2020) and must have passed a picking probation.

Hours: Full time (40 or 32 hours per week)
Equal pay salary: £15.60 per hour, plus benefits
(for a 40 hour week, circa £32,400pa)

Successful applicants will be required to attend a two-stage interview lasting around two hours in the week commencing 9th November. You must also be available to attend induction events in the week commencing 30th November.

We recruit temporary workers on an ongoing basis to work at our Elland warehouse or drive our trucks.

We offer up to 18 month contracts for Warehouse Pickers and LGV Drivers. Because Suma is busy it’s hard work, but you’ll be well rewarded with pay at the same rate as everyone else, plenty of options for paid overtime, the kind of open and democratic culture you’d expect from a large worker co-op, and for those based in Elland, a fantastic meal every day.
