Avonmouth, Bristol
We welcome applications from everyone irrespective of ethnicity or gender, but as members of ethnic minority groups and women are currently under-represented in the co-op, we particularly encourage applications from women and ethnic minority candidates. Appointment will be based on merit alone.
About us
Here at Suma we’ve been doing things a bit differently for over 40 years. Not only in our mission to supply everything vegetarian, ethical and sustainable, but also in how we run our successful business.
Suma is a worker co-operative; a business owned and run by over 200 members who work here. We’re a group of ordinary people who have built a business on principles of integrity and equality. Suma workers work together collectively to set the direction of the business - there are no shareholders and no traditional ‘bosses’. Everyone at Suma gets paid the same wage, takes personal and equal responsibility and does a range of different jobs each week.
We are currently looking for a HGV driver to join us on full-time basis for a 12 month fixed-term contract with a route to permanent employment for the right candidate.
This role will cover our Cornwall run (Sunday to Tuesday) with an option to drive an additional day run on Wednesday.
The Benefits
- Salary of £17.24 per hour
- Generous holiday entitlement
- Staff discount
- Expenses each day worked
- Overtime can be taken as pay or time off in lieu
- Access to occupational sick pay
- Overnight lieu accrued
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated HGV driver who shares our commitment to fair trade values and ethics to join our co-operative organisation as we deliver nourishing organic vegetarian food across the UK.
When you join us, you will discover a close-knit team, who share a vision of a fair and environmentally conscious way of doing business, and, with our flat managerial structure, you can be sure that your voice will be heard and respected.
Other organisations may call this role LGV Driver, Goods Vehicle Driver, Heavy Goods Vehicle Driver, Class 2 Driver, Class II Driver, or Container Driver.
